Accepting these terms
By accessing or using EarthXLab, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use EarthXLab for a school or organization, you confirm that you have permission to accept these terms for that organization.
The service
EarthXLab is an educational platform that teaches observation and evidence-based reasoning through guided planetary missions, interactive activities, assessments, and certificates.
Content is provided for learning and general information. It is not professional scientific, safety, medical, legal, or other regulated advice, and a completion certificate is not an accredited qualification.
Your account
You are responsible for information submitted through your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Provide accurate account information, do not share access in a way that compromises the service, and notify us if you believe your account has been misused.
If you are not old enough to accept these terms where you live, a parent, guardian, or authorized educator must supervise your use.
Acceptable use
You may use EarthXLab for personal and educational purposes. You must not:
- Break the law, violate another person’s rights, or submit harmful or deceptive material.
- Attempt to bypass access controls, probe security, disrupt the service, or access another user’s account.
- Use automated systems to overload, scrape, or copy the service in a way that harms EarthXLab or other users.
- Misrepresent mission results, certificates, or your relationship with EarthXLab.
Content and intellectual property
EarthXLab’s interface, writing, graphics, software, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view and use them as part of the service, but these terms do not transfer ownership to you.
Planetary imagery and referenced scientific material may come from public agencies or third parties and remain subject to their own credits and usage terms. You retain rights in original content you enter. You give EarthXLab only the limited permission needed to process that content and provide the service.
Third-party services
EarthXLab relies on third-party services for sign-in, hosting, data storage, analytics, and source material. Their own terms may apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services outside EarthXLab’s control.
Availability and changes
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may update scientific or educational content as the product develops. We aim to keep EarthXLab available and accurate but cannot promise uninterrupted operation or that every item will always be error-free.
We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, or address a serious violation of these terms.
Disclaimers and liability
EarthXLab is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties that are not expressly stated here. To the extent permitted by law, EarthXLab and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms, where permitted by law. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
